Bancroft Utilities |

The City of Bancroft has its own
electric utility. The electrical generating plant was built in
1939. Was updated in 1948, 1954, and again in 2001. The total
generating capacity for the plant is 4.4 megawatts. |

Bancroft has long term contracts with Corn
Belt Power and owns over 2 mega watts in Neal 4. |

Currently the City is working on
putting more electric lines underground to reduce the chances of
outages due to weather. |

The Utility has over 68 miles of electric
rural line. |

The current electric rates are:

Residential Electric Rate: |
Service Charge, $8.50 per month; energy charge, $0.064
per KWHr. |

Commercial Electric Rate: |
Service Charge, $9.50 per month; energy charge, $0.064
per KWHr. |

Rural Electric Rate: |
Service Charge, $17.50 per month; energy charge, $0.064
per KWHr. |

Minimum bill being $17.50 or $1.00 per KVA
of transformer capacity required, whichever is greater |

Optional Demand Rate: |
Demand charge: all kilowatts at $3.20 per KW. Energy
Charge: all energy at $0.0545 per KWHr. Minimum bill: $1.00 per H.P.
and/or KV connected load. |

There is a power cost adjustment for all
of the above rates. The Electric Utility has not had to use this PCA in
over five years, keeping electricity very affordable for its customers. |
