Bancroft renovated their swimming pool
in 2004 with completion in 2005. It features a zero depth
entry, a “frog slide” for small children, interactive water jets,
and a water cannon. The other end of the pool has a large
water slide and also a diving board.
Water aerobics are also offered both
mornings and late afternoon.
The Bancroft swimming pool is open
from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
 Leisure
Lanes Bowling Alley
Leisure Lanes bowling alley is a ten
lane bowling alley, which features league bowling, tournaments and
also physical education classes for nearby schools.
Bancroft Health Center
The Bancroft Health Center was
established in 2000. It is a “key only” facility, 24-7 access.
Members have 4 treadmills, 2 elliptical machines, free weights,
upper and lower body machines, 3 TVs, VCR and Radio/Stereo available
for use. Day passes can also be purchased.
 Baseball/Softball
fields
Bancroft has long been noted for
baseball. The Bancroft Memorial Ballpark is now the home of the
North Kossuth Cougars baseball team. Bancroft offers both baseball
and softball coaching to area youth. All youth baseball and
softball games are held at the lighted softball field.
Iowa Lakes Community College has
played baseball games on the Bancroft field as has Waldorf College.
Parks/Picnic Area
The park area is adjacent to the
swimming pool, and the sand volleyball court. It has a shelter
house with electricity and picnic tables in the area. Many family
reunions and class reunions are held here. Although it is not
necessary, it is advisable to call City Hall at 515-885-2382 to
reserve the shelter house for an event.
 The North Kossuth Golf Course
The North Kossuth Golf Course was
established in 1963. It is a nine hole par 35 public course. Carts
are available to rent. League play Tuesday, Wednesday, and
Thursday.
